Consultation on Child Rights Legislative Review, was held on 14th October 2019 at the Jirga Hall of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The Members of National Assembly of Pakistan, Members of Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, representatives of civil society organizations, international development partners, educationists, social workers, lawyers and human rights activists expressed their support for child rights.
Ms. Mehnaz Akber Aziz, Convener SDGs Special-Committee on Child Rights said, “The 30th anniversary of #CRC has provided us with an opportunity to review the state of child rights in the country. The aim of this consultation is to review the progress made in legislation regarding children and discuss ways to address the challenges.”
Deputy Speaker KP Assembly concluded by saying, “The KP Government is committed to improve the rights of children in the province. This consultation is another step in the right direction.”
